About
My research project focuses on analysis and Identification of Early Upper Paleolithic lithic industries in Central Zagros ( Iran ) including the debate of Proto-Aurignacian and its early development in this region.
I attempt to find some new information on debate of transition between Middle and Upper Paleolithic in this region.
I am using a methodological approach mainly consist of reconstructing the chaîne opératoire by examination of applied methods and technology, refitting studies and raw material analysis.
The core areas of my research are Kermanshah and Khoramabad provinces. Yafteh cave near Khoramabad is of a particular interest since it has yielded the largest number of C14 dates from a single Paleolithic site in Iran that are clustered around 28 and more than 35 thousands years ago.
My research attempts as far as possible to define a clear typo-technological framework for Central Zagros Early Upper Paleolithic lithic industries and place it in a chrono-cultural framework of inter and outer regional context
